The best equipment. Guys and gals alike are enamored with the best equipment. Guys will spend hours looking at a nice car. Women will spend hours searching for the best looks. Sunday as we continue our study of the Holy Spirit and turn to Ephesians 4:11-16 we get to spend time looking at the truly best equipment that there is… the equipping of the Holy Spirit. This equipping comes in the form of five gifts of both Christ and the Spirit and with a very distinct purpose for the Church and in your life. Join us as we discover these gifts, unpack their purpose, and then learn how it is that we are uniquely gifted for the purpose that we each share.

Checklists. Do’s and don’ts. That’s what we want right? That’s what we make God and His Word to be many times in our lives. We are reminded of this desire of our flesh as we turn to Ephesians 5:1-7 because it appears that Paul gives us a list of do’s and don’ts… and that’s where our minds go when reading this passage. We skip Paul’s opening greeting in verses 1-2 and we get right down to the “practical” stuff in 3-7. But if and when we do this we miss a beautiful and foundational reality to our relationship with Christ? In fact, we miss the forest through the trees when it comes to the giving of “dos” and “don’ts in God’s Word. See what I mean by joining us in this powerful study of God’s Word.

New Life In Christ

Dirty deeds, dirty duds, darkness, and sadness. This explains the way of the world doesn’t? Our world is full of darkness, dirty deeds, and sadness… yet our world, often times and in many ways our lives continue to put these same dirty dubs back on over and over again. For the world and those without Jesus they may not know that there is a better way… that there is a way free of darkness and dirty deeds. But for the Church, for the follower of Jesus this is not the case. We are children of the light. We are followers of Jesus who know that there is a better way than repeatedly turning to the old and sinful ways of this world. As we turn to Ephesians 4:17-24 we can discover for the first time the light and new way of Christ while believers will learn three essentials needed as we seek to turn away from the old ways of sin and put on the new ways of the light of Jesus. Remember that this is VBS Sunday where we will celebrate all that God has done through our 3-Day Stellar VBS and sing our songs celebration from the week!

You are special! Now depending on tone and context hearing someone say that you are special can be either an insult or an encouragement. As turn to Ephesians 4:1-16 we are reminded that we are special, that we are unique, and that there is no one gifted like us and that this comes from our good God and of course this is an encouragement. God's Power

This is a simple truth… yet it is the most astounding truth known to humankind. We are loved by God. We are loved by God to such an extent that God’s Son has come to us, and by nothing more than His grace and our faith He desires to dwell not just among us… but within us. As we turn to the second half of Ephesians 3, the Apostle Paul encourages us to give Christ the authority and space in our lives to not just be with us… to not even just live in our hearts… but to let Christ, His love, and His power dwell within us. To let Christ, His Love, and His power make their home within us. Join us as we seek to see the difference between Christ living with us and allowing Him the authority to make His home within us through Paul’s powerful prayer in Ephesians 3:14-21.
