We want to do the things that God wants us to do. Yet, sometimes it is hard to know what God’s will is. Searching for a healthy body. Is not a world searching for a healthy body? If it were not for car insurance and weight loss commercials, I am not sure we would have commercials on television. As we turn to James 5:13-20 and the final week in our study of James, we see that James is also searching for and promoting a healthy body. But it is not our physical body, it is a healthy church body. And of course, these truths for a healthy church body apply to a healthy life, so please join us for this final week in our study of James’ letter.

“There is something inside me that flows to the surface.” That is true, isn’t it? There is something inside us that often flows to the surface of our lives. An inner pull that often becomes an outward action or reaction. The problem is that something that flows to the surface is not always a something that we like about ourselves. Often, that something shows us and reminds us that we are not the person that we desire to be, that there are sins we still need Christ’s help in weeding from our lives. And what is the primary way those sinful inward desires reach the surface? Our tongues.
