Movements of a Movement of God

The Evangelical Congregational Church will be a dynamic movement of God who have a burning passion for God and a missionary zeal to reach the lost. Pequea Church of White Horse will be a dynamic movement of God that has a burning passion for God and sharing the hope of Jesus with a hurting world. This is who we claim to be. We claim and cling to being a dynamic movement of God who out of our passion for God have a passion to reach the lost with the hope of Jesus Christ. We seek to be as both the EC Church and Pequea Church… a dynamic movement of God. But what does a dynamic movement of God look like and how can we birth and foster that within our church and churches. Join us as we turn to Acts 19:1-22 to see the ignition point for the movement of God that we have studied this summer that is the church at Ephesus. Through this study we will see what a movement looks like and four movements of a movement of God that will usher into any circumstance or context… a dynamic movement of our gracious God.

Don’t Forget Love

Reaching our fullest potential. Flourishing in life and as a church. I don’t think that there are any among us who would say that they do not want to reach their fullest potential. I don’t think that there are any among us who do not wish to see Pequea Church reach its fullest potential. Where the disagreement might begin is defining what our fullest potential is as human beings and as a church. Yet, God’s Word clearly lays out what is our fullest potential and what is the definition of flourishing for humans and His Church. In fact the entire book of Ephesians which we have studied over the last three months is an in-depth explanation of human flourishing and a church’s fullest potential. Paul even leaves us with a final word of warning and the one key ingredient needed to flourish as individuals and as a church. Join us as see that ingredient and learn from the example of the Ephesian Church how to keep that key ingredient at the center of who we are and all that we do as a church and as individuals as turn to Revelation 2:1-7.

You Are Strong in the Lord

Hey… do you know that you are in a fight? You may or may not be aware of this but you are in a fight in this moment. In fact, each and everyone of us is in the midst of a battle as we speak. It’s not a battle that we can see. It is not a battle that we can touch with our fists or process with any of our senses. In fact, it is a battle that we cannot win! Yet it is a battle that we cannot lose. It’s a battle that you cannot lose. Confused? Join us for our final week in the book of Ephesians as we turn to Ephesians 6:10-24, Paul’s closing plea of protection and assurance.

You Are Filled with the Spirit

Relationships are HARD! Whether it be your marriage, your relationship with your kids, with your co-workers, with your friends and family. No matter the relationship relationships are hard. They take work and we each could use a “golden rule” to shepherd our relationships towards being like Christ. As we turn to Ephesians 5:21-6:9 we find that God’s Word actually has that golden rule for us and our relationships. I invite you to join us as we unpack God’s Golden Rule for loving and healthy relationships.

You Are Light

What is it that pleases God? How can I make God happy? What is God’s will for my life? These are questions that you hear all the time. These are questions that you have likely asked at various points in your life. These are maybe questions that you are asking right now. So what are the answers to these prominent questions? Does God reveal to us what pleases Him and what His will is for our lives? He does! And as we turn to Ephesians 5:8-20 we see that answering these questions correctly starts with knowing who we are and then as we discover who we are knowing who God is. You Are a Loved Child of God

Checklists. Do’s and don’ts. That’s what we want right? That’s what we make God and His Word to be many times in our lives. We are reminded of this desire of our flesh as we turn to Ephesians 5:1-7 because it appears that Paul gives us a list of do’s and don’ts… and that’s where our minds go when reading this passage. We skip Paul’s opening greeting in verses 1-2 and we get right down to the “practical” stuff in 3-7. But if and when we do this we miss a beautiful and foundational reality to our relationship with Christ? In fact, we miss the forest through the trees when it comes to the giving of “dos” and “don’ts in God’s Word. See what I mean by joining us in this powerful study of God’s Word.

You Are a Child of the Light

Dirty deeds, dirty duds, darkness, and sadness. This explains the way of the world doesn’t? Our world is full of darkness, dirty deeds, and sadness… yet our world, often times and in many ways our lives continue to put these same dirty dubs back on over and over again. For the world and those without Jesus they may not know that there is a better way… that there is a way free of darkness and dirty deeds. But for the Church, for the follower of Jesus this is not the case. We are children of the light. We are followers of Jesus who know that there is a better way than repeatedly turning to the old and sinful ways of this world. As we turn to Ephesians 4:17-24 we can discover for the first time the light and new way of Christ while believers will learn three essentials needed as we seek to turn away from the old ways of sin and put on the new ways of the light of Jesus. Remember that this is VBS Sunday where we will celebrate all that God has done through our 3-Day Stellar VBS and sing our songs celebration from the week!

You Are Special

You are special! Now depending on tone and context hearing someone say that you are special can be either an insult or an encouragement. As turn to Ephesians 4:1-16 we are reminded that we are special, that we are unique, and that there is no one gifted like us and that this comes from our good God and of course this is an encouragement. However it is an encouragement that comes with a goal and purpose to be met. What is that goal and purpose? Join us for this next installment in our study of the book of Ephesians to find out.

You are Loved

This is a simple truth… yet it is the most astounding truth known to humankind. We are loved by God. We are loved by God to such an extent that God’s Son has come to us, and by nothing more than His grace and our faith He desires to dwell not just among us… but within us. As we turn to the second half of Ephesians 3, the Apostle Paul encourages us to give Christ the authority and space in our lives to not just be with us… to not even just live in our hearts… but to let Christ, His love, and His power dwell within us. To let Christ, His Love, and His power make their home within us. Join us as we seek to see the difference between Christ living with us and allowing Him the authority to make His home within us through Paul’s powerful prayer in Ephesians 3:14-21.

You Are an Heir to the Kingdom of God

Do you ever find yourself lost midsentence? I think of one of the most repeated quotes from the TV show The Office, where Michael Scott says, “Sometimes I start a sentence, and I don’t even know where it is going.” I am reminded of this quote and these moments as we turn our attention to Ephesians 3:1-13 because the Apostle Paul begins a sentence planning to pray for the church at Ephesus. However, midsentence, he is struck by the beauty of the mystery of God and our part in its revelation. Please join us for the next week in our study of Ephesians as we uncover the mystery of God and the purpose that it has in our lives.

You Are at Peace

Total Peace. Complete Unity. Oneness. The end of all hostility. All dividing lines erased. Sounds like a fantasy, doesn’t it? But here is the thing… it’s not.
