Evangelism. Witnessing. Sharing our Faith. These can be scary callings for a Christian as they live in a world that is often hostile to our efforts to evangelize, witness, and share our faith. Nonetheless these are essential characteristics of authentic faith in Jesus and His Gospel. This Sunday, we are going to conclude our Eternity series by seeing that what we believe about Eternity causes us to speak up for Jesus!

Out with the old and in with the new Throughout our time in our Eternity series, we have talked about this overarching theme that what we believe about eternity affects how we live today. In the final two weeks of the series, we will unpack what that means, starting with our study of Colossians 3:1-17. In this passage, Paul reminds us that the Christian HAS BEEN made NEW… in the past tense. Meaning they no longer pursue the earthly things that they did before Christ.

Heaven… it seems like such a faraway place doesn’t it? We often think of Heaven as a place that we only have access to when we die but actually, that is not true. We have a direct access line to Heaven today. It is called prayer. And as we dive into 2nd Kings 19:14-19 we see the way to utilize this access and the power of God that comes with it.

What will Heaven be like? That is a popular question for both Christians and non-Christians alike. Heaven, eternity, what happens to us when we die peaks the interest in our lives. And this point is proven true as we look at bestsellers lists and Google searches. However, there is only one source that has authority and accurate answers to these questions. The Word of God and the Word made flesh. That is why in this series we are turning to that Word to see what we can know and expect about Heaven, and the life that awaits us there. In message number 1 join us as we open John 14:1-6 to see where it is and how it is that we can have comfort in Heaven. Both in this life and in the life to come.
