We hear it in the church a lot… the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is available to us. But what power and what good is that power if we don’t know how to access it? What good is even the power of God if we don’t know what effect it has on our lives? Join us this Easter as we dive into Romans 1:16-17 and Mark 10:46-52 to see two things. The power of God and then the effect the power of God has on the lives of those who put their faith in it.

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. What is the message of the cross? What is it that makes it such foolishness to some? Where’s the dividing line? What is the power by which we are being saved? Join us this Palm Sunday as we unpack the wisdom of our all-wise God by looking into 1st Corinthians 1:18-31 to discover the wisdom of God and the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.

If there is one thing that Christians love to sing about it is God’s grace. God’s amazing grace. And rightfully so! God’s grace is amazing and God’s grace is truly wonderful. But as we look at Hebrews 4:14-16 we are clearly reminded what it is that is so amazing and so wonderful about God’s grace. The fact that it is a gift that God desires us to confidently take hold of! Join us this weekend as we see how we can take confident possession of God’s grace.

God is merciful and God is gracious. Oftentimes we and even Scripture lumps these two beautiful realites of God together and there is nothing wrong with that. Both of these attributes of God are rooted in God’s love and compassion for us. However, it is important to note that there is a distinct difference between God’s mercy and God’s grace. Over the next two weeks beginning this weekend with our study of God’s mercy from Micah 7:14-20 we will see the difference between God’s mercy and grace. Join us as we see that God’s mercy both nullifies and forgives our sins.

God’s justice. What is your first response to hearing of God’s justice? Was it positive or negative? I would go out on a limb and say that many of our first reactions to God’s justice would be negative. That we would rather not think about God’s justice because with those thoughts come pictures of an angry God ready to smite us. But that is a false picture! Rather, the justice of God reminds us of the faithfulness of God. It reminds us that God is continually calling us back to Him through a humble, faithful, and ever-lasting relationship. Join us as we continue our study of God by seeing that God is just and discovering why that is so good for us sinners.

God is good but my life isn’t! A core foundation to our faith is that our good is God. But in the sinful and fallen world that we live in that is hard to understand. God may be good but our lives often are not good. And it is in these moments, the hard moments of life that the deception of God’s goodness really takes hold in our lives. It is those moments that we feel we are lacking something that lead us away from God and His true goodness to pursue goodness in this world that trips us up. Join us this weekend as we look into Psalm 34 to see five imperatives and invitations that lead us to the good life that comes only through our good God.

I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, Did I read that right? Is God jealous? Isn’t jealousy a sin? Join us this weekend for the third week in our study of God to understand one of the most hard to understand realities of our God. He is jealous. We will seek to do this through studying the beginning of the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20:1-6. As is the theme of this series we will look to see what the attributes tell us about God and what it means for our lives.

This weekend we continue our study of God by seeing that our God is a holy God. Correction. We will see this weekend that our God is THE holy God. We will see that there is none like Him and so His followers should be unlike everyone else. Join us as we dive into 1st Peter 1:1-2:3 to see what it means and what it means for us that our God is holy.
