Moving from reluctance to assurance in following God’s call requires understanding that His presence matters more than our abilities. Through Moses’ encounter at the burning bush, we see how God responds to our fears and excuses with promises of His presence and support. Despite feeling inadequate and afraid, Moses learned that God’s power, not personal perfection, enables us to fulfill His purposes. When we focus on God’s presence rather than our limitations, we can take small steps of obedience that lead to greater confidence in His calling.

In John 8:1-20, Jesus demonstrates boundless grace and hope through the story of the woman caught in adultery. When challenged by the Pharisees, Jesus responds with wisdom, highlighting the importance of forgiveness over condemnation. He offers the woman a new beginning, emphasizing that true hope in Jesus is steadfast and rooted in His divine nature. As followers of Christ, we are called to extend this grace to others and live in the assurance of His light and salvation.

This weekend we kick off a brand new 3-part sermon series entitled Neighbors & Nations in which the goal will be to both see and love people as Jesus does. As we begin the series we will look at Mark 5:21-43 to see the way that Jesus both looks at people and how that look that leads to love expresses itself. Join your church family this weekend as our morning will be packed with life application!

John Stott Quote: We do not speak like Paul because we do not feel like Paul; this is because we do not see like Paul. This weekend are going to close our First Things First sermon series with what I pray will be a message that stimulates and equips us to share the hope of Jesus with a hurting world. We will turn to Acts 17:16-34 to see what the Apostle Paul saw, felt, did, and said to the many lost people he connected with in the Ancient City of Athens. and how his example can inspire us to live the same way.

At Pequea Church… for all believers…. the name “evangelical” does not have anything to do with how we vote or what party we affiliate with. Rather it is who we are and how we live. As a church we express this through our fourth core value which states that we are committed to evangelism and discipleship. But the world that we live in is not always the easiest place to live this out. Join us for week number four in our First Things First sermon series as we turn to Acts chapter eight to see the example of an evangelist named Philip and six practical things that we can apply to our lives and live evangelical lifestyles. Through this message Pastor Jesse will reveal our “theme” or invitation for 2024 to see people come to faith and following our worship service we will host our annual congregational meeting.

Join us Sunday for week number two of our series unpacking who we are and how we live to see from Acts 5:17-42 how the practice of wrap keeps us focused on our new life in Christ. This Sunday we will also begin the New Year by partaking of the Lord’s Supper together. Please be a part of this powerful morning of re-centering our lives upon Jesus.

The Evangelical Congregational Church will be a dynamic movement of God who have a burning passion for God and a missionary zeal to reach the lost. Pequea Church of White Horse will be a dynamic movement of God that has a burning passion for God and sharing the hope of Jesus with a hurting world. This is who we claim to be. We claim and cling to being a dynamic movement of God who out of our passion for God have a passion to reach the lost with the hope of Jesus Christ. We seek to be as both the EC Church and Pequea Church… a dynamic movement of God. But what does a dynamic movement of God look like and how can we birth and foster that within our church and churches. Join us as we turn to Acts 19:1-22 to see the ignition point for the movement of God that we have studied this summer that is the church at Ephesus. Through this study we will see what a movement looks like and four movements of a movement of God that will usher into any circumstance or context… a dynamic movement of our gracious God.
