This weekend as we move into the penultimate week in our meant for good series we see the most tense family reunion of all the tense family reunions. Joseph is reunited with the brothers that beat him and sold him into slavery. Yet, contrary to what we would expect in a reunion like this… Joseph shows his betraying brothers, grace. He extends to them forgiveness and he seeks for them good and not revenge. The question is how did Joseph get here? Not reunited with his brothers but to a place where he forgives and shows great grace to his brothers. Join us as we turn to Genesis 45:3-11 for the answer and to prepare your heart for this study I invite you to read through Genesis 42-45 as we will study the events recorded in these chapters.
God is Merciful

God is merciful and God is gracious. Oftentimes we and even Scripture lumps these two beautiful realites of God together and there is nothing wrong with that. Both of these attributes of God are rooted in God’s love and compassion for us. However, it is important to note that there is a distinct difference between God’s mercy and God’s grace. Over the next two weeks beginning this weekend with our study of God’s mercy from Micah 7:14-20 we will see the difference between God’s mercy and grace. Join us as we see that God’s mercy both nullifies and forgives our sins.
