This weekend we will bring to a close our 8-week study of the Holy Spirit by looking at the gifts of the Holy Spirit. 1st Corinthians 12 tells us that we, each of us, every Christian has at least one gift of the Holy Spirit for the purpose of building Christ’s Kingdom. The Equipping of the Holy Spirit

Sunday as we continue our study of the Holy Spirit and turn to Ephesians 4:11-16 we get to spend time looking at the truly best equipment that there is… the equipping of the Holy Spirit. This equipping comes in the form of five gifts of both Christ and the Spirit and with a very distinct purpose for the Church and in your life. English theologian John Owen says of Romans 8 and the reality of the Holy Spirit that it entails is that we need to “be killing sin or it will be killing us.” Praise God that for those who are in Christ Jesus… those who are experiencing the Holy Spirit of God find no condemnation for their sin. We live in the power of the Spirit which gives life BUT we still wrestle with our flesh that tempts us to sin which leads to death. Join us for the next week in our study of the Holy Spirit to see the freedom of the Holy Spirit but obligation that comes with that freedom for believers to live in the Spirit rather than the flesh.

That is the question that we will turn to Acts 1:1-11 to answer as we continue to see how The Holy Spirit is better for us. We will also have a special opportunity that we want each of you to be able to participate in that we will be unveiling at the conclusion of our worship.
